Wow. I once (a couple decades ago) considered moving to St. Louis before choosing Nashville when I emigrated from California. I never even considered Baltimore or Detroit, of course.

Venezuela, Mexico and Brazil are the worst, though. It's interesting/disturbing that all but two of these "bottom 50" are in either North or South America.

"Most of the world's most dangerous cities are located in Latin America. The highest ranked city outside of Latin America is St. Louis in the United States, which is ranked thirteenth with a murder rate of 60.59 in 2018. Detroit, with a murder rate of 39.7, came in at forty-second place."
