we have a second house, the one that bought very long ago and we rented it out while in our new house but we've talked of selling it and using the money to buy a house or property outside of California. Unfortunately, because Kalif democrats are so inept in managing tax money, they have a law whereby to avoid the MASSIVE capital gains on the sale, you have to live in it for 2 out of the last 5 years.

So, is officially living in it and has been for over a year, but it's not two years yet and the gains we'd pay to gavin are probably more than if the market crashes back to like 2008.
