Best Thrillers of All-Time

by bill - 2018-06-08 ( culture / writing / books / novels )

According to the Telegraph, anyway. An interesting list. Several if not most of these were that author's first published novel. I've actually read half of these, though it's been years. I should read them again.

    Honorable mention:
  • The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (1844)
  • The Riddle of the Sands by Erskine Childers (1903)
  • The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy (1905)
  • The Third Man and other stories by Graham Greene (1949)
  • The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth (1971)
  • Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith (1981)
  • A Time to Kill by John Grisham (1989)
  • Los Alamos by Joseph Kanon (1997)
  • Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (2012)

Over the past year, I've made updates and/or corrections to most if not all of my novels (listed below). According to Amazon, "You should get automatic updates if 1) your device is connected to wireless internet (Wi-Fi), and 2) you turn on automatic book updates. To turn on automatic book updates:

  • Go to Manage Your Content and Devices [this is the link I get on my own PC, if it helps: Amazon instructions]
  • Click the Preferences tab
  • Scroll to Automatic Book Update
  • Choose On

If your book doesn't update automatically, contact us. You won't need to buy the book again, but you might lose notes or highlights."

NEW! Random samples of dialogue from my novels!
