'A California educator has demanded that schools in the state ignore 'privileged white voices,' and argued that the curriculum should be even more anti-white than it already is. Samia Shoman, who oversees the curriculum at the San Mateo Union High School district, managing English learners and academic support programs, contacted California state superintendent Tony Thurmond, in March of 2021, and demanded that 'white voices' not be allowed to influence the Ethnic Studies Curriculum.'
