I Go In For A Biopsy Of My Prostate Todayby bill - 2008-03-01 11:45:37 ( in life, health, doctors) [php version] rebuild[Updated: 2008-03-05 05:00:00]It's on my doctor's advice because of my high PSA count in my blood test. That's supposedly a possible indicator of prostate cancer, but I doubt it. They said it only means that 10-15% of the time. No matter what they find, I intend to start taking Zinc, Saw Palmetto and Vitamin D supplements regularly. I've read that that's usually at least as good as other treatments. UPDATE: They say it IS cancer, but I'm not terribly concerned. Contrary to popular belief, cancers come and go all the time in our bodies. The doctor didn't tell me that, of course, but did say there is such a miniscule amount of cancer that he personally would not operate if it was him. They often do this "wait and see" approach, which is what I'm doing. similar posts here ... and elsewhere
Comments (We enjoy free speech. Try not to offend, but feel free to be offended.)I finally had the thing removed last year (2023). They biopsied it again, and found absolutely no cancer. So, the whole thing was a false alarm. It did need to be removed, though, because it had gotten so big. - bill, 2024-06-06 08:03:19Leave your own comment: |
