    They wouldn't be doing this if they thought there was any possibility of answering to voters in the future. So it's a permanent situation as far as the govt is concerned.

    Don't forget Austria, and probably Germany soon. Fourth Reich, anyone? And, the only reason it hasn't happened in the US is because we have guns. Lots of them.
