![]() Soil Treatment Updateby doug - 2024-10-08 20:56:53 ( in family, home-garden, farming, soil) [php version] rebuildI finished applying the bags of soil nutrients to two acres yesterday. We got 40 bags for a total of 2000lbs, so 1000lbs per acre. You see a spreader attached to our lawn mower which was extremely helpful. I can't imagine spreading it by hand. Now the final step is to spray 50 gallons of concentrated liquid nutrients. It's a 10:1 ratio , so that's 500 gallons. All I have is a handheld sprayer. That's not going to be easy, so I'll check into something bigger. Feel free to ask any questions. On Oct 8, 2024, at 10:54 AM, someone wrote: Teacher supply has a 25 gallon sprayer. So, I found one that attached to the lawn mower with wheels, and I pull it like the spreader. It holds about 20 gallons, so 180lbs should be fine to pull. Still many loads but way better than by hand. Cost about $300 on Amazon. On another subject, I got my two 1175 gallon water storage tanks delivered this morning. Now I'm just waiting for two of my hydraulic cylinders on my backhoe to be fixed so I can dig a giant hole and bury them. similar posts here ... and elsewhere
