This is great. Pretty similar to one by Mark Twain, actually, but I am adding it here, anyway:
“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we have been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We are no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we have been taken.”
My attitude is simple: Wear a mask if you are worried, but leave the rest of us alone to breathe in peace. And, anyone who fell for this "pandemic" probably also fell for the "Arabs with box-cutters and negligible flying skills pulled off the 9/11 attacks" meme; Obama’s "hope and change" or whatever he called his "movement," and the Kennedy assassination "magic bullet" official explanation.
A mostly one-way text conversation I had with my wife, Tara, yesterday while she worked and I tried to get her car emissions tested. I was laughing at my own situation after a while, wondering what could possibly go wrong next. I never did get it tested because I really did have to leave and get gas.
The day was not all bad, though, as earlier that morning we helped unload and hand out an entire truckload of food to anyone in need, mostly people laid off because of the quarantine.
Horse racing fans will not be denied the Triple Crown this year, even though the order of races will be different. Instead of having the Kentucky Derby, which will take place on Sept. 5, kick off the Triple Crown schedule, the series will begin on Saturday with the 2020 Belmont Stakes. This year’s race is shorter than usual, as it will be 1-1/8 miles in length as opposed to the traditional 1-1/2. The 2020 Belmont Stakes post time at Belmont Park is scheduled for 5:42 p.m. ET.
